Surprise Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics

After years of horrible dental experiences, I was at my wits end as a mama. Dental visits were exhausting physically and mentally for me and my three children. We gave Surprise Pediatric Dentistry a try after a few mom's had suggested them. From the very first visit only a few months ago, to an extensive procedure my youngest daughter underwent yesterday, we have been so happy with this office! My 5 year old went from clinging to my body every time we walked into the dentist, to willingly allowing the staff here to do x-rays and a cleaning on her first visit there! The front desk staff is very friendly and empathetic and Dr. Maddox and Dr. Bland have been nothing but patient and kind with all of my kids (and myself). All of the techs go above and beyond to make sure the kids are comfortable, but also educated on their dental hygiene. The office is kid friendly and inviting with the cute treehouse and fun holiday decorations every season. We will forever sing their praises!

We thought this would be a good office to take my daughter too but it has become a nightmare! Her expander was not made correctly 3 times. Then they put blue paste all over her molar to keep if from falling after it fell out 3 times again. Now its pushing up into her gums and we've made an Appointment, however they made it worse. We are now looking into another office. Any recommendations are welcome.

I’m extremely disappointed in the handling of a situation by Emily the office manager. The office policy is I can’t schedule my children six months in advance. However first I was told it’s because my insurance then I was told because it’s Dr. Jansen policy like exactly what is it? Why am I being lied to? When my children were seen and I had asked her to talk to Dr. Jensen to see if I can schedule six months in advance. I never received a call I had to call in to get an answer. Then I get a call and she has no solution for my children. It is not my fault as a parent that their system is not sending out reminders a month before my children are due for a cleaning and because there’s an issue with their system I don’t understand how it is the patients fault. I did not appreciate the way that she talked to me telling me it is the patients responsibility to schedule an appointment and I just don’t understand it when I’m literally trying to schedule an appointment now. Dr. Jansen is amazing and so is the back office staff. However, front office can definitely work on better customer service it is not welcoming when you walk in the door or when you leave like it used to be! I’m extremely disappointed!

Had appointments for 3 of my kids, they accommodated us perfectly. Great atmosphere for the kids (and parents.) Parents are allowed in the back with kids during cleaning etc, and staff is really friendly. We saw Dr Kalamchi, and she was great. She took the time to go over everything with me and answered any questions I had. We moved here from Florida, so we’re “starting over” with all our Dr’s, it’s really convenient that the orthodontist is right upstairs if needed (hopefully the Dr’s are just as great!)

After many years of using another pediatric dentist in Surprise I decided to get a second opinion here. Dr Jensen and his assistant were very nice and accommodating. Dr Jensen took the time to explain the procedure as well as long term treatment one of the kids needs. He was great with my daughter and also cared about my questions and concerns as he took time to address and explain. The kids, ranging from 3 to 9 years old, loved this place so much and have all requested to go back. Even though only 1 was seen as a patient, the staff made all my kids feel welcome and they had so much fun in their play area. The whole staff is wonderful!

Everyone in this office is so friendly and helpful and patient. We are so thankful to of found them. My daughter really struggled and was so scared and they were so patient with her and kind. Plus they worked super fast and got everything that needed to get done done. They also were very honest with practical on what was major and what things were minor fixes. Overall a great experience.
